Happy Easter

Almost a week late, but Happy Easter from the Richeys! We had a great day of celebrating at church and with family. The girls were in their matching dresses and let me take many pictures. Mary Ellen was very excited about all aspects of the day and continues to talk about it!

Charlotte is in a major grabbing stage, as you can tell by this picture!

Mary Ellen thought that Charlotte needed to try out her sunglasses. Charlotte is such a good sport about all the things that her sister wants her to try!

"Look at my new bunny!"

"My bunny is almost as big as me!"

Charlotte was in awe of Bentley. If she could have crawled in or somehow gotten there, I think that she would have gotten in the car set with him. She kept looking at him, and "talking" to him. We kept saying that she was so excited to see someone smaller than her!

We had an Easter Egg Hunt in Caki and Bo's backyard. Mary Ellen was so excited to find the eggs and then find that they had money and candy inside. She did share with Charlotte and Bentley and helped them find the eggs too!

But, she definitely made sure she had the most! Next year, she will have to learn a bigger lesson in sharing as Charlotte and Bentley will be able to fend for themselves!

On a different note, there may be a break in pictures on the blog. Our computer died this week, actually as I was working on getting this post up. Paul saved the pictures from the hard drive, but I am not sure about the capability of uploading pictures from my camera right now. I will try to post from my phone as I can to get this updated as much as possible. Hopefully, we will be back in business soon!

Easter Egg Hunt

Mary Ellen has discovered the joy of hunting Easter Eggs. She especially loves finding things inside, so she was so excited about the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. From the minute she got up, which is early, she was asking about it. She carried around hers and Charlotte's baskets ready to fill them up. Luckily, she did let me take a few pics before we left the house!

When she found find an egg, she would pick it up and shake it before putting it in her basket. She was having so much fun filling her basket.

She of course had more fun looking through her basket and discovering what was inside.

This was my unsuccessful attempt to get a picture of the girls at the Easter Egg Hunt, but it is cute anyway! Charlotte is working on sitting up, but she starts to sit there and then rolls forward, which you can tell a little in this picture.

Sick little girl

Well, Charlotte has her first bout of being sick. I have thought that she had allergies, which may be part of it, but it has turned into an ear infection. I probably should have guessed that something was coming when she fell asleep so quickly after eating yesterday morning. She slept in her high chair for a good 20 minutes, if not more.

By yesterday afternoon, she woke up from her nap and just started to look more and more pitiful. She was definitely not her playful self.

And here the girls are just hanging out. Charlotte has had her first dose of meds and woke up from her nap with a little bit more pep. Hopefully, she will feel even better tomorrow morning.

Cousins

Mary Ellen is so excited about her cousin. She has even made up a song about him that she loves to sing. We hope to get some good pictures of the three of them soon, but we are going to have to find a time that they are all in decent moods, which may be difficult! When these pictures were taken, Mary Ellen and Charlotte already had their pajamas on as we were heading back to our house from Caki and Bo's house. Bentley had just finished eating and was crashed out. Mary Ellen though had to see him and get a picture with him!

Hanging out in the bathroom

Tornadoes were spotted in our area the other night, so we spent some time in the bathroom as the sirens went off. Mary Ellen was very content watching a show, and she loves her helmet, so she was happy to wear. Charlotte was close to being asleep, so she sat in her seat like a champ. Luckily, nothing happened, but we did have to get them up one more time, but they both slept through that. Unfortunately, more bad weather is being predicted, so we may be back in this spot again!

Avocado

Charlotte had her first food other than cereal last week. She tried avocado. She didn't know what to think of it at first, but with time, she liked it more. She has now had butternut squash too, and tonight, we will be trying green beans. She gets very excited when she sees food. She tries to get our food and grabs at our utensils thinking that we should be sharing with her.

Exhausting

Playing is just such hard work! Charlotte was playing away one morning, and then I realized that she had gotten quiet. I walked around the corner and found her like this. She had just reached her limit!

Bentley Tyler Bozynski

We are so excited to welcome Bentley Tyler Bozynski. He was born on Monday, April 11. He weighed 9lbs 1 oz and was just over 20 inches long. We have decided that it must be the Bozynski genes that led to big babies! Mary Ellen loves her cousin and goes around talking about him all the time. After we left seeing him, I kept hearing her in the back of the car whimpering. When I asked her what was wrong, she said, "I want to see my cousin!" It is going to be so much fun to watch all of them grow together and be such great friends!

Is it possible that he will be a thumb sucker like Charlotte?

This was one of the first pictures that was sent to me after he was born. He had just had a bath.

The proud daddy introducing Mary Ellen to Bentley!

I am such a proud aunt!

Charlotte just chilled while we were in there. She was a little oblivious. The funny thing was that they were in the same room that I was in when Charlotte was born, so we kept asking her if she remembered it!

Cool Chicks

What more can I say, other than look at these "cool chicks!" The weather is great, and we enjoyed some time outside and our first trip of the season to the ice cream truck!

Potty Training, rice cereal, and visit from Nene and Pops

This is a post with many different milestones. We are into potty training and doing well. Mary Ellen has to visit every bathroom at every place, but at least she is telling us she needs to go. What was funny was that when we were at The Purple Cow eating dinner with Nene and Pops, she told me she needed to go potty, and I needed to take the camera with me. When we got in there, she told me to take her picture. I made sure that it was tasteful, so I could share it!

Nene and Pops stopped by on their way to and from Houston for the Final Four. When they came back, we went out to the Purple Cow, which is one of Mary Ellen's favorite restaurants. She saw the shake with these great things on top of it that she had to have. It was a good incentive to get her to eat her dinner!

And, Charlotte is eating cereal. This was the first time that she had it, and she loved it! She gets so excited about it and doesn't like to take a break in between bites. She will hold on to my hand, almost directing it to her mouth. Soon we will try other foods, which I am sure she will enjoy!

The weekend update

We didn't do anything extravagant this weekend, but we did get to enjoy some very nice weather. After a cold spell, it felt like spring this weekend, and we took some chances to take advantage of it. On Sunday, though, it was very windy, so Charlotte didn't necessarily like being outside for a long time in that!

Here they are enjoying some naked tummy time. If I ever bring Charlotte out with no clothes, immediately, Mary Ellen has to join her by stripping her clothes off.

On Saturday, we meet up with Caki and Bo and walked to Uncle Tyler and Aunt Rayni's house. Mary Ellen had picked out a present for Holly, and we wanted to make sure Holly had her special toy before cousin Bentley makes his arrival.

After I got Mary Ellen dressed Sunday morning, she looked at me and said, "Take my picture!" Charlotte wasn't too happy about having her picture taken, and Mary Ellen tried to console her.

Sunday afternoon, we went outside for a little while. Mary Ellen showed off her garden, and Charlotte tried to figure out what she thought of everything.

And just a little update on both of the girls and what they are up to. I told about Charlotte's new adventures in the last post, but here is her doctor's report from today. She weighs 15lbs, 5 ozs, and is 26 inches long. Compared to her sister's 4 month stats, she weighs a little less, but she is longer. I can definitely tell that she is a long baby by clothes that I put on her.

Mary Ellen has ventured into potty training. She has been wearing panties at home, but this weekend, we ventured out with them on, including church, and she didn't have any accidents. We aren't completely there yet, but we are getting closer. I didn't send her in panties to school today, but when she heard me talking to her teacher about her potty training, she got upset that she didn't have panties on. She had some in her bag, so that said they would put them on her. We will see what she comes home from school in!
