Chugga chugga choo choo

I took the girls to their first play today. It was about a train and it was very interactive. It took a little while for Mary Ellen to warm up, but then she was very involved. Charlotte watched what was going on and responded to things in her own way. Charlotte wasn't big on having her picture taken with the train afterwards!

Dinner time fun

Charlotte loves her food and loves to feed herself. She will still take a little baby food, but not much. Here is a taste of what dinner time looks like at our house:

As you can also see, clothes are optional for dinner!

Pulling up

Charlotte is very determined, so when she wants something, she finds a way to get it. With that being said, she has mastered military crawling at a very fast pace and now, she is pulling up on things. At this rate, I am afraid to see when she will start walking!

Girls will play while dad is away!

Paul is in the Philippines, so we have been having our own adventures. We have spent time with wonderful friends and family, visited the Wonder Place, Chick-fil-a, Chuck E. Cheese and the pet store, and watched Charlotte discover many new things and skills. Charlotte has gotten two teeth now and is trying more finger foods.  She is trying to pull up on things and sometimes successfully makes it to her feet.  The pictures aren't in any particular order, but a sampling of our fun girl time!

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time.  Paul's friend, Tom is with him on the trip, and Tom's wife and girls wanted to do something fun with us.  Even though Katie and Melinda are in college, they hung out with Mary Ellen, showing her all of the great spots in Chuck E. Cheese.  We were so grateful for this time with good friends, and a little break for Mommy!

A great time at Wonder Place for both girls

Mary Ellen decided that she wanted to be a big girl and take a shower for the first time rather than a bath.  When she got out, she wanted to put her hair up like Mommy does!

First Wedding

We got to share in the wedding of our pianist from church, Bandi.  Bandi and Aaron got married on Friday.  Daddy performed the wedding, so Mary Ellen and I meet up with him.  (Charlotte stayed and played with Caki.)  Mary Ellen was very inquisitive about the wedding, but by the end, we had to take her from it crying, because she didn't want to leave the dancing.  We weren't able to leave before they cut the cake, because Mary Ellen had to have a piece.  She was excited about sitting at the big table and using the special cups.  As soon as the music started, she was ready to dance and loved that she got to dance with the bride.  Now, whenever she sees a bride, she says, "Look, there is a bride, like our bride!"

Play date

We had a fun play date at our house with kids ranging from 8 months to 6 years old.  There were nine kids in all, and everyone seemed to have fun, and my house showed it afterwards!  The kids played and the moms managed to have some time to chat and catch up.  Here are few pics of the happenings from the day.

Charlotte loved exploring and enjoyed seeing what everyone else was doing.  She loves balls!

Good Times!

A few weeks ago, Granny, Connie, and Susie, came to visit.  Mary Ellen loves seeing them, and especially enjoys playing with Susie.  It was also a good time for Mary Ellen and Charlotte to "teach" Bentley a few tricks!  Charlotte is into everything and exploring the world.  Mary Ellen wants to help her, and they decided that their exploration included Bentley!
