Firetruck came to SPLAT

Fire Truck came to visit everyone at SPLAT! What a great and exciting day it was. The kids made "fire hats" and badges before, so they were official firemen too! Mary Ellen really liked all of it, except for when the fireman was in the full garb. She got use to it though, and ventured to see more of the truck!

ME and the boys!

This past weekend, Mary Ellen had the chance of hanging out with some of her "boyfriends." Carew was visiting Arkansas, so we got to catch up with him and Jack. Mary Ellen enjoyed showing off her crawling to help them out and sharing the toys that they had out.

Cheese!

More peek-a-boo

Carew didn't know what he thought about Mary Ellen being on this toy, so he was giving her a push around the room.

Cool Chick!

It was another bubble day at SPLAT, but as you can see, Mary Ellen found her own ways to entertain herself and everyone else along with playing with bubbles!

4th of July festivities

On the 5th, we went to some church member's house for a great cookout and a wonderful firework display. Mary Ellen had a blast, because they had ducks and fish that she could feed, but also riding toys that she hadn't even been around before. She was a little hesitant about the fireworks at first, but she got to the point that she loved them, and especially liked the sparklers.

Mary Ellen loved this four wheeler. She even figured out how to make it go on her own. She amazes me each day with the things that she discovers and figures out.

She was watching the "snake" come out of one of the firecracker.

Watching the fireworks, but still a little hesitant about it.

I know the picture is fuzzy, but this is how she was by the end about the fireworks. She loved seeing the colors and having them go up in the air.

Sparkler fun!

First tomato

Mary Ellen helped pick the first tomato from our garden. She has been a big help with watering and checking on it with daddy. She was very proud when she came in with the tomato to show me!

Before we knew it though, she had decided that she needed a bite. We then all enjoyed our first produce as a family, and hope that there is many more to enjoy in the near future.

Week in Review

There has been a lot going on this week, so I haven't had a chance to get pictures on her quickly, so here is the week in review.

Mary Ellen started off the week with her new love of having a backpack! She loves Dora these days, so we were about to walk out the door, and she was ready with her backpack. She almost looks like she is ready for school. I hope that I can get a picture of her this excited when she does start her school in the fall!

At SPLAT on Tuesday, we had a fourth of July Parade. The kids brought something to ride in or on, and decorated it. We rode out in parade form, but then the kids had more fun just riding around the parking lot in a free space!

Checking out her decorations!

Ready to go!

Mary Ellen got to try out one of her friend's tricycles. Her feet didn't make it to the pedals yet, but she still had fun and liked being pushed around on it!

On Friday, we had so much fun playing with Caroline at our house. We had gotten a swimming pool, but hadn't had a chance to get it set-up, so this was a perfect opportunity. Caroline and Mary Ellen had a blast splashing in the water, going down the slide into the water and just into the grass, and just playing around outside.

Watch me go!

Drink break!

Best of friends!

I think that they were having a little girl talk!

Today, we went to the farmer's market in Little Rock. Mary Ellen enjoyed walking around and seeing the farmers as she likes to say. She even didn't mind when it started raining! We had to check out the flower garden that she saw from far away!

Sunday afternoon

There is always so much going on these days that we don't seem to have much time at home to try some new things. This afternoon, I pulled out one of Mary Ellen's new games of Memory she got for her birthday. We laid all the cards out and tried to make pairs looking at them.

Here she is holding her first pair that she found!

She then had more fun building stacks with the cards and counting them, which is one of her favorite things to do these days!

We also painted our toenails this afternoon. When Mary Ellen woke up from her nap, she noticed that I had changed my toenails, so she wanted hers done.
