Charlotte's first trip to Fayetteville

Mary Ellen, Charlotte, and I went to Fayetteville this past weekend. Caki was already there, and we were able to see Granny and Susie. We had a great time hanging out, going to the Farmer's Market, rolling around on the floor, and running through the sprinkler. At the Farmer's Market, Mary Ellen was very excited to see a puppet show, a cool fountain, and got her first face painting on her arm! She also discovered that she really liked running through the sprinkler as it was watering Granny's grass. She would come in completely soaked! Charlotte provided entertainment for everyone and enjoyed trying out her new favorite skill of rolling around the floor. She didn't enjoy her visit to the church nursery, but other than that, she had a great time! Some of these pictures are me playing around with my new camera!

Back to blogging - well sort of

I have finally been able to upload pictures from Mary Ellen's birthday and Charlotte's baby dedication. I know that it has been a while since these events, but if nothing else, I wanted to have them documented for myself. For others, enjoy catching up!

I am hoping to be back to blogging more consistently in the coming weeks. I have gotten a new camera, so I am going to be working on learning how to use it, and Paul is graciously letting me use his computer as I need to. So, there will probably still be a few weeks of sporadic pictures, but hopefully, after that, I will be a little more consistent.

Thanks to all who enjoy keeping up with our family through this blog!

Cousins

A few pictures of the cousins - Mary Ellen - 3 years old, Charlotte - 6 months, and Bentley - 2 months

Penguins, trains, and new friends

I had the great excitement for Mary Ellen and Charlotte to meet Parker and Brenna, the children of my dear friend, Jenni! Jenni and I have been friends since high school, but haven't been able to see each other in over 5 years. I was so excited when she planned a trip to Little Rock to visit her parents, and I selfishly occupied as much time as she would let me. Mary Ellen loved playing with Parker, who is 4, and Brenna, who is 18 months. She still talks about them. I didn't get pictures from all of our outings, but these are from our trip to the zoo and All Abroad, a new restaurant, where trains bring you your food. Mary Ellen was also really excited about seeing the penguins at the zoo. She has been talking about seeing them ever since she saw them on a billboard, so it was a very exciting day all around!

Baby Dedication/ Second birthday celebration

On May 8, it was baby dedication at church, along with being Mary Ellen's actual birthday and Mother's Day. We had a another day of celebrating, which has made Mary Ellen think that you should have two birthday parties! She is already following in the traditions of many women before her in our family who like to celebrate their birthday for a long time! Charlotte didn't quite know that it was a special day for her, so she didn't mind sharing the day!

Max and Ruby 3rd Birthday Party

Mary Ellen's 3rd Birthday party was a Max and Ruby theme. If you don't know Max and Ruby, they are brother and sister bunnies. We had chocolate and strawberry cupcakes as requested by the birthday girl, bunny sandwiches, bunny marshmallows, and bunny crackers. There was the very requested pinata and pin the tail on Max. Everyone could wear bunny ears if they wanted, or just take them home with them. We also had party hats, because we all know that it isn't a party for Mary Ellen, unless there are party hats! It was a wonderful celebration!

Check-ups

Today, the girls had well check-ups. Both did great during the visits and growing well. Mary Ellen weighs 37 lbs and is 39.5" tall. She was great and was a wonderful big sister showing Charlotte how it should be done. Charlotte was fine with being checked out, but didn't enjoy her shots. She loved playing with the paper on the table while we are waiting. Now, everyone can see from the picture that Charlotte is a growing girl and the rolls show it. So, drum roll please ----- At 6 months, Charlotte weighs 19lbs, 13 ozs and is 27" long!!!!! You can definitely tell that she loves her food!
